I have on 06 Chevy 1/2 ton and tonight when I got back in it and started it up that message came up. So i stopped and shut it off and restarted it,came on again, I could floor the gas and not go anywhere so I tried it again this time when I restarted it the message wasn't there but check engine light was on. So I get home and did it again now it's fine ,no message no check engine light. Anyone ever heard of this?

Get that thing checked out ASAP, even without the check light on, there is still going to be something set into the computer showing that there was a problem, and the reduced engine output, is either the computer detecting the coolant is low and is in the limp stage or there is something in the tranny that is reducing the torque to limit the power.
