Just bought a 97 Blazer fixer upper for a "bang around" vehicle to use for camping, kayaking, scuba diving, etc.

This truck needs a lot of work so I'm glad I found this forum. It seems I may have a rare all-wheel-drive Blazer. Dont' know if that's a good thing or a bad thing yet.

Thought I was buying a push-button 4-wheel drive with a missing dash controller. There's a hole in the dash where the controller would go but no controller and no harness. I took the dash apart looking for the harness and never found it.

I found a link at this site for looking up GM RPO codes and from what I can tell I have the AWD system. Code NP3 is all wheel drive transfer case and F46 is all wheel drive. As I read the codes NP1 is full range electric, NP2 is manual, NP8 is 2 speed push button control.

So, I have a big project ahead of me and I hope this forum will be helpful. And, who knows, maybe I'll be able to help others as I plod along busting knuckles, screwing things up, and learning as I go.
