I'm pretty close to buying the rough country 4 inch lift. On the notes though it says frame bracket modifiication required. I've never put a suspension lift on before, what does this mean? I searched for it but no luck. Thanks

u have to cut a piece off the drivers side where the lower control arm was originally bolted on, it has no effect on the frame of the vehicle, iv put on quite a few of these lifts

You have to cut the rear differential mount from the frame and cut the mount off the differential itself and grind the cooling fins to gain clearance. Look at the instructions on the link you posted for more info.
