Chilton says I need to use 80W90 GL5 Gear Oil in my front diff. Is there any reason to use or not use synthetic? Also I see they come in LSD and non-LSD versions. I assume non-LSD? When I did the rear I used synthetic LSD (I do have the locking rear which specd synthetic.)

I've used the Mobil 1 75/90 in my front and rear diffs. in all my trucks forever with no problems at all.

I did front and rear diffs at the same time and just used mobil 1 75-90 synthetic LS in both. you dont need synthetic or ls up front but why not.
