here is a story . after the gauges died in my 03 Silverado and some gentle tapping to buy some time I went into the local gm dealer who wanted a blank check and my truck for a couple hrs or more for labour. basically gave me a ruff quote of a grand. needless to say preston chev olds in Langley bc Canada will never get my business. found a place called Kelowna instruments. great guys mailed my cluster ups to them one day turn around completely rebuilt with a new lense (gentle tapping) 250 dollars Canadian. now I'm happy again everything works.

When my cluster died out, I had a guy from http://fixmygauges.com/Clusters.html send me a re-manufactured cluster. It came with the tranny temp gauge, white back lay, as wheel as red needles. Looks great and the tranny gauge worked without a trouble. They treated me great and it is working great
