Check around but make sure the shop specializes in gear swaps. You will get a better deal and be sure it' s done correctly. Check the 4X4 shops as they are the ones that do a lot of swaps.

I have a 4x4 (so I had to have the gears swapped front and back) and I got them done at a 4x4 shop for $1600.00. They told me the rear was easy to do, but the front was difficult, so if you only have a 4x2 I would think no more than $800.00 if I had to guess.

$2000 for both axles including parts and labor and the ole Alaska upcharge.

a good price should be anywhere from 700-900.
