Got busy and am just now getting something to eat. Think I'm going to call Deaver Suspension and see what they say about some new springs so I can do away with my rear blocks. Maybe Curky once more.

Sorry I was reading property listings.

@Sierraowner5.3, with regard to the trailer, take some advice -- used ones go for darn near as much as new ones (often more, depending on if the current owner overpaid or not!) ... and have wear on their tires. I paid less for my trailer (including tax and NC tag that is a permanent tag) BRAND NEW, ordered (which meant I paid half, up front) exactly the way I wanted it ... than I would have for a used one with fewer options was selling, locally.

Now, granted, I had to drive to Dover, NC, to pick it up (from Capps Trailers: ... but still. Price shop ... and give new a look compared to used ... and call places to price shop/compare on something you can order if what you want isn't in stock.

Just remember to re-torque the lugs after the first 40 or so miles if you buy new ... and then again after the first 100. With no load!

Where's Sarge?

me again.
SurrealOne, thanks for the link. So you know, I was planning on buying new. When im gonna be towing it 1400 miles or so, id rather not have to worry about used tires, hubs and so on.

im thinking dony in the morning.

I'm in. But with a very heavy heart. It wasn't my hometown hit today, but it was still my home state, and a place that I have been to many times growing up. I've also been to Shawnee (which was impacted Sunday) several times as well). I just wish I could be out there to help. As I've mentioned before, the main reason for everything I put on my truck (and my future planned mods) has been not only for storm chasing, but for emergency response. When chasing storms I know that I'll be one of the first on the scene if something truly tragic happens. I'm heartwarmed to know that there were chasers who stopped chasing to help because that's what I would do. I know there are some in that community who are only there for the glory and adrenaline who would not do the same. With my medical training from the military, it would be selfish of me not to use it to help my own fellow citizens in their time of need.

Everyone please say a prayer for those affected by the storms of the past few days. Thankfully my family was not affected, but I really wish I was out there helping. My truck can be fixed if it were damaged trying to help recovery efforts, and I could always catch up on sleep (which I wouldn't get for a long time if I were out there), but it would be worth all the risk if I had been able to help out there.

I'm headed for bed. Guessing Curky in the morning.

@SuppplySgt, I understand, as I and others where I worked in Kansas stopped what we were doing and made time to help those in Joplin immediately after it was hit. (One of my co-workers, back then, was born in Joplin...) Locals and even those not so local (like us; we were in the KC area) have to pitch in to help make a broken township whole. FEMA and the Red Cross can't and don't do it all...

Curky's next...

Good man surreal, good man. :great:. surreal again. Wife and I got into a big fight last night about the kid suv we are looking for. I only had one rule since day one NO FORD. Here are her things, can't be red. not boxy, no car, must be 4x4 under $4000. She is living in a world that i can't seem to find. I told her to deal with it, I'm done. I found two great jeeps but one was red and boxy and the other was boxy. WTF. sorry had to bring it up to someone to get it off my chest.

You should start looking for a lifted, 4x4 AMC Gremlin. It meets all the criteria:
• 4x4 (aftermarket of course...)
• Not Ford (AMC!)
• Not red (paint it whatever you like...)
• Not boxy (look at those smooth, flowing lines...)
• Not a car (but also not a truck or a SUV; no one's ever been quite sure what the hell it is, really...)
• Probably under 4k (given that you can't GIVE a Gremlin away...)

Curky again...

OH MY GOD! LMAO. I would so send this to her but since I told her to deal with it, it would make things worse because she would know I am being a complete smart ass. I would buy it. looks fun. surreal again

Here, FSBO local to you:

4x4, not Ford, not red, not boxy, not a car, and it's only half your budget, too, which leaves you the ability to sink 2k into it to address any problems that crop up. Oh and its got a big back seat for making out with her boyfriend. (I joke ... because you know as well as I do that THAT sort of thing happens in his car, not hers...)

I think you and the wife are making this harder than it is...

@Curky once more.

Nice find S, I agree it should happen in his car....... oh, and that last part too. Man up Curky, you can handle this. Never take advice from me on women considering I don't have one now...... Surreal you're up dude.

You got me. As for not having a woman, donyms, you probably have the best and most realistic advice on women specifically BECAUSE you don't have one. You're not head-over-heels for one ... nor is one attached to you like a ball and chain ... so you get to call it as you see it.

Married men commit to a life of putting up with a specific woman's $hit, so they've made their bed ... or in Curky's case, tonight, couch, or shed, I suppose.

Sarge next.
