Last week I read online, you can clean chrome with vinegar, water and aluminum foil. I happen to have an old chrome bumper so I gave it a try. I mixed a spay bottle with water and vinegar. Spayed the bumper and let it sit a few minutes then rub it with aluminum foil as if it were a rag. It really did work. The foil is too soft to scratch the chrome and the vinegar ate away the tarnished. bumper.JPG

dope! I'm going to give that a try as i replace my bent bumper with one i found at the wrecking yard today. I don't imagine the vinegar & aluminum foil does much on rust hey?

Yes it should take off any surface rust. My Dad would soak rusted files and drill bits in vinegar.
