Not too good with search feature yet guys.

I have a 2003 or 2004? Silverado with the bose system but only a one disc stock head unit.
My buddy has a 03 sierra and his stock 6 disc stacker sitting in the garage doing nothing. Is this a simple plug and play swap or is extensive modification required?

    Thanks!

you will have to have the dealer un lock it, they lock the head units to the vin number of the vehicle it was put in

Oh ok. Does it have to be in the truck to do that or I can I take the head unit to the dealership?!?
Does it cost much for them to do?

    Thanks!

My guess is around 80 as that seems to be about what they will charge just to scan your codes on a vehicle at the dealership

It's like 25 bucks, just have it all installed and take it to the dealership...then they will do it. It has to be in, and they dont charge much.
