I have heard that there are 2 different lengths for this axle... its a Dana 44 with 4:10 Gears.. out of my 1977 Chev Suburban K20
I will post pictures of what broke with this thread.
I need to know if this is true... because I would like to order the new part before I start tearing the truck apart.
    Please help!

D44 parts are getting tough to find. You might consider swapping in a GM ten bolt just for better parts availability. The 10 bolt has a larger diameter axle tube, and a better wheel bearing setup too.

What size tires are you running, and how much time do you spend in the mud?

Looks like you just need a new axleshaft. No big deal. You should be able to find them pretty easily from various offroad shops.
