Has anyone done this? I peeled the driver's side sticker off my sun visor, and it left a layer of the adhesive behind. Any suggestions on how to take this off? The visor material is not hard plastic and I am not sure what to use to take off the glue.

Goo Be Gone or any similiar petroleum based product will remove the adhesive.

Thanks. I wasn't sure I could use that on the visors, but will give it a try.

Clean it with soapy water after the Goo Be Gone to remove any oily residue.

Please post back with your results.

I was going to say I used to use lighter fluid to remove glue residue, but a lot of newer glues don't really respond to that. It just makes them flammable and sticky.

I'm concerned about using anything too strong because the material is the same as the headliner. I'll try a little goo gone and post back. If I can find it.

Ok, it seems to have worked, but it's hard to tell if I got it all in the light. I'll check it tomorrow and then decide if I'll do the same on the passenger side. I guess I should've tested there first, but live and learn. I used a brush that may have been a little harsh and pilled up the fabric a bit. Hopefully it doesn't look too bad in the light. Still looks better than those ridiculous stickers.

If you need to you can always use a disposable razor to get rid of the pills, and smooth it out again.

The Goo Gone did the job. I beat up the driver's side a little with the brush, but will try to clean it up with a razor. On the passenger side I used the same thing, but I used a toothbrush which worked perfectly. No damage to the material and it took all the glue off. It was a Colgate soft brush, in case you're wondering.

I also used a spray bottle with soapy water to help clean off the residue.

Thanks for your help, the visors look much better without those stickers.
