How do you align wiper motor crank arm

I just bought a replacement wiper motor for my 1994 K1500 and it didn't come with a crank arm. How do I get the old crank arm aligned before assembling in the cowl?

I had to replace my motor about a year ago and didn't have to finagle with the crank arm. Did yours break? The only trouble I had was lining up the motor threads, to the wipers so the wiper speed was correct.

I would mount the new unit and with it not connected to the wiper linkage operate the motor. then in the park position connect up the linkage.
