some of my interior lights have gone out in the climate control and a few buttons on the radio.is there anyway to replace the lights without replacing the entire unit itself?

One of my buttons just went out on my climate control... if you figure out the answer let me know, and I'll do the same

Sad that GM design dropped the ball on this. Seems like most Silverado's with a few miles on them have one or more lamps burned out. They should have made them easier to replace.

Apparently it can be done. Check out this post at chevroletforum.com: http://chevroletforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13698 The poster doesn't disclose how it's done, but his description does sound like some lamps require soldering.

Interior Flair offers lamp conversions, and focus mostly on imports, but they do have offerings for the silverado. http://interiorflair.com/Home.php

Yes, as stated above, it can be done but it requires soldering.
