is B106 the proper blank for door/tailgate lock on a 2013 Silverado?

    The '09s use the B106

    GM has not changed the keys for the 2013, so they are the same.

    Just keep in mind, the B106 blank does not have a transponder (PASSKEY III) If you try to use it in the ignition, the PCM will not provide fuel to the engine.

    I have one for my truck; I have a bad habit of carrying keys and tools in the same hand. I have, on a few occasions, locked the "real" key in the truck (used the driver's door lock switch). I carry a B106 to open the lock on the driver's door. It trips the alarm and I need to scramble to find the key and hit unlock on the FOB.
