I grew up detailing cars w/my dad and one thing he taught me was to keep the wax away from plastic cause it'll make them turn white. So it's not just Mequiars wax products, I think it's one of the ingredients. I use the black car spray wax on my truck and moldings and found that it doesn't turn them white. But then again, it's not a wax that turns cloudy when it dries which tells you it's time to wipe it off.

mine were fading from black to grey, and i went and bought some of the Krylon plastic spray paint and painted them about a year ago, and they have not re-faded since then. At $5.00 including the tape and a newspaper, its a lot cheaper than buying all new moldings.
