I Did a conversion when i was about 17 yrs old w/ a 453T In a 85 C20 & an Auto tranny but that was no electronic / computer brain in the 85. (had the 453T & GM BELLHOUSING IN MY GRANDDADS SHOP From an ole wonder bread truck ) is it possible to put a 6B Cummins or 453T Detroit in a 94 GMC 2500 W/ one of the earlier computer systems in it or will i have to replace my wore out 350 w/ 390,000 miles w/ a crate motor or rebuild my 350 & just can the idea of dropping a diesel in my "JIMMY" 3/4 Ton pick up ?

anything is possible for the right price;) It is pretty populer in Europe for owners to drop the 4cyl cummins into 92-99 bodystyle suburbans, there are even videos on youtube, they claim 26mpg too. Not sure what they used for a tranny but I have seen this done before....

Ya Vncj96 my family used to farm & do dozer work also . we had 4B & 6B Cummins in alot of equipment . there is an aquantance of mine who dropped a 6b in an 82' K30 Chevyback round 89 or 90 when the 350 blew . it works like a charm .

    The 85 C20 I had i had a Allison 545 Shoehorned in there behind the 453T .

I Was just wondering with this 94' GMC Of mine if id have to change out a brain box& whatever else to make this conversion work .

Computer has me threw for a loop .

    Thanks

The cummins is one heavy ass motor and will require a lot of frame work. The 5.9 weighs roughly 1,100lbs vs. the 6.5 at 700lbs. It is very possible to do just depends on what you are willing to spend or what amount of work you want to do.
