just bought my truck yesterday

    drives like a dream. i love the smooth ride and how high it sits me. i've been a ford guy who comes from a long line of ford people, but i read too many good things about the chevys to pass them up. glad i got the one i did.

    2008 Silverado Crew Cab LT1

    is there any kind of light or notification when the engine cuts down to 4 cylinders? the salesman said there was, but i haven't seen one yet. i do have the 5.3L

    Good lookin' truck! I don't know if "all" 5.3 engines in '08 have the cylinder deactivation or not, but I bet there is a light to tell you when it shuts down to a 4 cylinder. I'm sure some of the owners of the NBS trucks will be able to answer your question, have fun!

    Do you have the DIC buttons on your dash, going through those will show you the Active Fuel Managment option and it's it working at that point or not.

    If you don't have the DIC buttons, take a look at this post about adding them. http://www.gmtruckclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10218 I assume this is true for the 2008 as it was for the 2007, although not 100% certain.
