the box i am planning to buy to replace my current one is at http://www.topedgeonline.com/Chevy_Custom_Dual_12_inch_box_p/gmcust212.htm

both of these subwoofers will fit in this box and it is ~1.14 cu. ft. each sub. along with the Alpine m-1000 amp that i am using, what sub will hit harder/sound better? is it a tradeoff for either one?
i can see the difference in rms handling and recommended volumes and such.
    any opinion is appreciated.

This is my opinion based on the amp you're using. If your using 1 12 then I say get the CVX. If you're using 2 12's then I say get the solo classic.

Is that 1.14ft after the subs have been installed in the box?

each of the subs are ~.06 ft^3 so it still averages out to about 1.01 ft^3 per sub.

yeah im gonna be using 2 12" subs for sure.
with the CVX's itll be 1000W RMS supplied to subs capable of 1500W RMS
and for the soloclassic's itll be 1000W RMS supplied to subs capable of 1200W RMS
and other than power handling the only thing that really differs in these 2 subs is their frequency response. i know the CVX covers a broader range too.
what sound difference does that really make? other than the soloclassic not playin as high of frequencies. do i really need my subwoofers to be playing above 100 Hz?
but of course if you think it really would be underpowered then (it powers each CVX sub 66% of their capability) how much does that affect the sound quality/loudness?
