Even at this point the amount of work I've done on my truck would equate to boat loads of cash.... my labor for my truck is my time and my free time, except that oil pan and rear main job I did that took far to long.

Well this week I need to fix my multimeter because I blew the fuse and while replacing it I bent off part of the holder. Now I need a new holder and fuses. I will be using a better holder that makes it easier to replace the fuse.

Here's some stats on the LEDs and their power draw.

    White LED strip:
    ~6V:17.3mA
    ~9V: 92mA
    ~11V: 175mA
    ~13V: 230mA

    Red LED strip:
    ~6V: 28.6mA
    ~9V: 69mA
    ~12V: 110mA
    ~14V: 135mA

Each strip varies the voltage just slightly which is why their max test voltage is different. These are numbers I gathered not numbers from the manufacture.

Pics of the brightness from about 20ft away.

White bar at full brightness. Man is it bright and there will be two of them plus stock back up lights and my navigator 4" light (may add a second I like seeing behind me while backing up)

Out put of the red bar at full power. Much more dim. Remember there will be three of these + brake lights

Ordered some of the parts I need for the set up and going to radio shack tomorrow to get some parts.

I decided I should be more specific.

On amazon I ordered a 12v transformer and two trailer harnesses to use to hook up the controller to the inputs and outputs.

At radio shack tomorrow I'm picking up a bread board, jumpers, a relay, the voltage regulator, and some small hardware.

Almost all parts are in currently. I have the IC all made on the breadboard the rest of the LED strips are now in, and i bought the parts for making the IC and some also came in. Last thing I need is a 6V regulator which Radio Shack ordered for me and they have it coming in this week or next. The guys at The Shack are they best, very friendly, knowledgeable, and hardworking. Without that store this project would be a pain ordering parts online without seeing what they are.

    Pics and videos to follow.

First of the photos. These are from me prototyping the relay to make sure it worked the way I needed it to, which it does very well. I will put up Youtube videos soon they are uploading to the site as we speak.

Video of the light bar. Kinda proves why the 5V regulator doesn't work well.
