Login timeout?

Does the site 'time you out' when you are logged in? I have logged in and begun a thread or an answer to a post, been interrupted and had to come back after a few minutes; finished the post/thread went to post and been told that I couldn't because I wasn't logged in. I then re login and the post/thread has disappeared. I've developed a workaround for this by copying the work before I get up and if I "lose" it when re-logging I just 'paste' what I had into a new post/thread. It also happens when I PM a friend.
Am I not doing something correctly when I start or is this the norm?

Make sure when you log in your put a check mark in where it says "remember me" or something to the effect.

Let me know if you have been doing that.

I have never been timed out. Sometimes it takes a few seconds to post to a thread but never have to relog in. I have this website in my links and can't remember ever having to sign on, keeps me logged in for getting on the site. Is it happening on other websites, moving slow, ect. Plus I defrag and disk clean up everyweek, that might help. Maybe Steve can give you a hand.

It has happened to me a few times also! I will try that Steven! I will let you know if it happens again! I agree, I hope I am not doing something wrong

I hadn't checked the 'remember me' box but I'll give that a shot. I perform all regular maintenance on my laptop weekly. It doesn't do this on any other site, just this one.

That will be the issue, then. Make sure to keep that box checked off when you log in and it will keep you logged in day after day, really, unless you log out. Also, seeing as you are doing your weekly maintenance you most likely delete cookies. After your maintenance you will have to log in anew and, again, make sure you check the Remember Me box.

Eddie, same thing with you. If you clean cookies off your computer you will find you'll have to relog in the next time you visit the site.
