I have a 98 Park Ave that only has 15,000 miles on it, my other half stopped at an appointment when she came out the column lock would disengage. I went back with my keys and tried, I wiggle the wheel etc the key will not turn, wheel and shifter will not move. Any ideas appreaciated!

Is one of the front tires in a bind against a curb or a parking block?

No but thanks, the wheels are fairly straight and free just cannot turn the key. Tried wiggling, tilting the wheel, stepping on the break and different keys. Someone mentioned it might be a solinoid, going to have it towed to the dealer.

Moral of the story! The tow truck came to cart it off to the dealer, the driver grabbed his hammer tapped on the key and wala. Drove it to the dealer for a new lock, he called later to say the lock was like new and just shot it full of graphite. To that end $55 tow truck without a tow and $52 at the dealer! This rates as one of those " Old to soon Smart too late"
