I have read some info online about making the fog lights come on automatically when the headlights are on. Some folks make fusebox jumpers, some run wires.

I really would like to make the fog lights come on automatically so I do not have to manually turn them on. What is the best method? Anyone done this?

Search for 4 hi or 6 hi mods, the answer as to how is dependent on what year your truck is.

This is how I did it on my 2000 nbs

I would talk to your dealership and see if the computer can be flashed to do it. In the newer trucks there is just the fog and then a hi/low relay. Jumping them with wires or diodes like I did in the old truck isn't exactly the safest thing, but if you did it your fogs would always be on with both your hi and your low beams

Frascona I see your from Texas, you might want to check state motor vehicle laws before doing this mod.
The Texas motor vehicle laws contain a section on lighting restrictions that discuss lighting output, fines can get hefty when ticketed.
