Yep, first thing I would replace without even trying to analize anything else (once I was sure it was getting fuel). Have had two cars that died from bad CPS's in the last year.

What does that have to do with not getting signal from ecm? He can not get scan to connect to ecm.
    Just wondering ?

Nothing but sounds like he has more than one problem that may or may not be related. Crank sensors are cheap and the number one cause of no starts in late model anythings..

the truck is in the shop right now and the mechanic has replaced the following.... crank sensor, cam sensor, battery, and ecu. truck still will not run. it will turn over and run for about a minute before shutting down now tho. any ideas cause the mechanic is out of ideas he says.

You say it will start and run for a minute.. then quit? How about the scan did mech. get it to scan?
Have mech. to check fuel pressure. How about ignition module? Need to scan or you will be throwing money at it.
When it shuts off .. can you start it back up right away. If not need to find out if it is still spark or fuel related.
Scan and check pressure to start.
