I drive a 1987 Silverado and recently it has been making a bad sound in 1st gear. Its like a winding or sucking in the front end. as soon as I'm out of first gear its gone.... Any help?????

Is this a manual or automatic transmission?

Ok, since this is a 1987 model, I'm assuming it's a C/K 1500 pickup. How many miles, what's the engine and transmission configuration on this?

    A little more clarification:

The 350 in the 1987 models were EFI (TBI).

They also have the 700 R4 trans.

(And the NP205 transfer case for the v10 4WD models).
