    Im active duty army working on my 5th yr in. Im out of Fort Hood TX but currently deployed to Iraq. I will be coming home in January 09. Finally after 15 months

    4 years active Air Force. 6 years Air National Guard. Got out of the service 11 years ago . Operation Desert Shield/ Desert Storm while on active duty. Update: Rejoined the Air Nation Guard in June 09. Accepted an AGR position in October 2010. Good to be back full time again. I.Y.A.A.Y.A.S.!

    That might qualify you as a brown water sailor.
    Nothin made me happier than a few fathoms under the keel.

    Not quite, we were blue-water boys (DESRON-2) but there were times when we had damn few fathoms under the keel while well north of the DMZ. I tip my hat to the brown-water river warriors, they were among the unsung heroes back in the day.

    DESRON 2, You ever have the priviledge of serving with ADM Jeremy Boorda? He woulda been a Yeoman 1C at that time.
    The Brown water Sailors have a long tradition of being ballsy fellows. I dont think I'd have the fortitude to go some of the places they sailed.
