I have a new 2010 5.3L Silverado. I had the dealer service do Maint 1 at 4600 miles due to a trip. Now at 8600mi I am looking to change oil.

Should I use Mobil 1 or Castrol Edge. I have had two cars of the last 29 yrs, running Castrol--1981 Honda Accord 196K wrecked. 1996 Saturn SL2-289K wrecked, all with no engine work.

    Please advise,
    Kent

personal preferance..its whatever you have had better luck with, personally I use Mobile 1 every 3k(give or take due to no odometer), 400k+ mi and its still going strong

Slap me, I went with the Castrol Edge. Thanks for the tips about the Wix filters and Car Quest brand. I ran out of time and used the high end Fram

just a quick question, whats the deal with WIX filters, I'm guessing their better quality than Fram, NAPA, etc...?

Wix filters always get good ratings when tested. NAPA Gold, not NAPA Silver are Wix filters.
