I have been looking for a Silverado as a restore/rebuild project. I found this 1999 extended cab at a local chevy dealer. Found out they got it as a trade-in and was not up to standards of vehicles they resell. It was going to send it to the crusher. I explained I wanted it for a restore project and picked it up at a very reasonable price. I gave it a good cleaning and checked it over when I got it home. Just about everything is wrong with it but it runs, it doesn't leak any fluids oil, trans fluid and anti-freeze look clean.

Wow! What a find! Congrats on the new project truck! Looks like you have a good foundation to start off with! I can't wait to see what all you do to it! I used to have one just like her!

Wow besides all the mechanical issues you talk about it looks to be in great shape. How many miles on her?

It has 127K on it, V8 4.8l, 4 speed auto, 2 wheel drive, the body is pretty straight, lots of surface rust in the seams. My goal is to get it down to the frame as far as I can and start over.

mileage definately isnt bad at all, sucks about the rust though. Thats the same motor/trans and drivetrain combo I've got in my 03.
