so I have a 06 Silverado with dual manual climate control. The right side of the unit stopped lighting up so i took the unit apart and it does not seem that you can just replace the bulbs. so questions is do I have to replace with the same manual dual control or can I purchase the dual automatic climate control. it seems that the connections on the back are the same. Thanks in advance for the help.

I don't have an answer to your specific question. What I can tell you, though, is that I had a controller in when I bought the suburban that was not what was originally in there. Everything looked correct except it was missing the rear defrost button that was supposed to be there. I'm not sure if that lead to the failing controller (it wasn't working correctly) but when I put another one in it worked just fine.

It would seem to me that if it was an option in your truck from factory it should work.

I say visit a salvage yard and get yourself an inexpensive one there. If it doesn't work then at least you've out just a few bucks.

Hopefully others will reply and give you a little more direct information.

    Good luck,
