today I was going to surprise my girlfriend with a new cd player in our 2002 suburban. I hooked it up as best as I could, it worked fine in the driveway. As soon as I backed out of the driveway, it began flashing. no sound, just flashing. Once the sun set and headlights were needed, I noticed the instrument panel lights were out. Has this happened to anyone else? Id so, how did you fix it?

all of your instrument panel lights are out? Sounds like you blew a fuse. I would start looking in the fuse box first.
