What do you guys think of the new legislation proposed regarding Firms that receved TARP money and the taxing of bonus' paid to employees of those firms? New law would require taxation of a bonus by 90% if your income is over 250. example. you make 150 and get a 150 bonus, you'd get taced on the bonus at a 90% rate. (not to mention the other tax you would owe on your base salary).. Comments?

It`s like this these guys are raping the american taxpayer plain and simple!!! And they deserve this, these TARP funds were set up to get the economy moving again and put people back to work. If we can put people back to work this credit crunch will fix itself, but to clearly take advantage of the american taxpayer and receive a bonus for piss poor performance is crazy. I don`t know about the rest of you but I don`t get paid for doing a bad job or practicing like a doctor, lawyer, or a weatherman

I think the bonuses, if they were earned (according to the policies and procedures of the relevant companies), should be paid, as promised. Any excess taxation is nothing more than government "price fixing". Once the government is done with Wall Street, they're coming for us. How will you like it when it's your bonus that's being targeted?

TARP was bad enough; let's not make it worse with confiscatory taxation. That's a dangerously slippery slope onto which we do not want to embark.
