    Greetings from the Florida Panhandle

    Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us.

    That is one tough looking truck. That thing would pull my Airstream like a toy.

    Thanks to all for the compliments on my truck.

    Wish I knew how to put a bigger pic in, instead of the thumbnail? I guess that's something to learn later?

    As to the several Q's:

    Cost = Lots
    Mileage = Surprised me

    I do not have any "programmer", but Mornoe must have one, because the speedo reads correct with the 40 inch tires.

    I just made a run to the Cleveland area, and had 115 miles of around home miles before that trip.
    On way home, I filled up at 293 miles on trip meter (including the 115 town driving). It took 25.25 gallons. That come out to 11.60 mpg !! I had expected 8-9?

    I did also learn something on that trip on the Interstates. Running 55 mph, tach reads about 1600-1650 rpm. Bumped-up to 62 on cruise, and it shifted into another gear with RPM dropping to 1500 ( GM rates this engine at 620 ft/lbs @ 1600 rpm ). I am betting that on a tank with a better ratio of highway miles-city miles, It could be even better?

    Regardless, I am OK with 11-12 in a truck that weighs 10,980 pounds empty and is about as aerodynamic as a RR boxcar.

    For those who don't know, at least in Ohio, interstates and alot of other 4-6 lane highways, have a sign that reads something like this:

    Speed Limit 65
    Vehicles OVER 4 tons empty 55

    Hmmm, I'm over 5 tons....

    So it will haul a max of 9230 pounds and tow a max of 19,200 pounds. That's a lot of trailer! Pretty cool!
