Im in Australia and Chevy trucks arent sold over here. This means we have to import them and get them converted to RHD (expensive).

My ideal truck would be a 4x4 Silverado/Sierra with the 454 or 502 motor. Was this combo made and if so what years was it made?

I know some of the suburbans from the 80's had the 454 and 4wd but I'm not sure about the trucks. Other than that I think that redneckarmymp is right about the 1990-93 trucks.

Welcome to the site, and Redneckarmy is right, Silverados were not made stock with 454 4x4, the only stock 454 model was the 454SS in the 90's, but it was only made in 2wd. and no trucks have been produced stock with a 502...sadly :grrrrrr:

The "Silverado" body style (beginning in 1999 for light duty trucks, 2001 for heavy duty) never had a 454 or 502 available. The largest gas engine available in the Silverado body style pickup was the 8.1L which was a 496, available in the 2500HD/3500 series trucks from 2001-2007. On the older trucks "Silverado" was just a trim level on the truck.

You could get the 454 with 4x4 in 2500/3500 series trucks from the 1970's until 2000, but it was only in the R/V body style which ran from 1973-1991 in the heavy duty trucks, or the C/K body which ran from 1992-2000 for heavy duty trucks. The 502 was never stock in a pickup truck like others said.

Exactly. You can get a 4X4 with a 454. And a stick.. just depends now on if you can find a used one. I couldnt and i looked for 6 months.. Had to settle for a 350 instead.

I believe the most powerful gasoline engine you're going to get with a newer Silverado 4x4 is the Vortec MAX. I believe that's a 6.0 if I remember correctly.

Welcome to the club. Do you have to convert to RHD because of the laws or just a personal option??
