Hello all, I just bought a 2000 Silverado and am planning on doing my first oil change. I was trying to look at the oil filter with little luck "for the number." I plan on using Napa Gold filter and bought one. I brought it home and it looks to short. The parts guy gave me a 1042 and I believe its wrong. I have been sifting through forums and it looks like I need the 1522. is this correct? It looks longer, just like the filter on the truck. I have seen 1040, 1042, and 1522. Its a 2000 Silverado 4x4 5.3.

back in 2000 this was the ac pf59. that was discontinued. I then switched to the purolator pure one PL25288 . I also use the WIX 51522 . I believe that the NAPA gold is the same filter as the wix.

having a 2000silverado 5.3L 4X4 140,ooomi. for almost 13 yrs now the mobil synthetic with these filters does a great job. oil is clean and 1/3qt useage between 8,ooomi oil changes.
