Recently took 2004 duramax in for oil change at Chev. dealership. Guy says I have an oil leak coming from the back of the engine...they can't tell exactly where until they get in there...could be several hundred dollars to over a thousand. Anyone had this before or know what they are talking about. I don't know anything about engines so I'm curious.

Just like a Doctors diagnosis. Dealerships are known to lie, just to get some business for there employees. Take it to another reputable shop and get a second opinion. If it is a leak from the rear main, the cost will be over 1k. At least it is around the Ky/Tn area.
