I am planning on replacing my pioneer head unit in my 02 silverado with one that has built in bluetooth ( the one on my Garmin is a pain) and was wondering if any one has used the onstar mike on the overhead wired in to an aftermarket?

I have heard of this being done but I have never personally heard or seen it. I am sure with some research there is some kind of kit out there or even a "how to" thread on another forum

You are going to need either splice it or research the pin set up to tap in to it......if it were me I would just put the aftermarket mic in the onstar mic position and be done with it.
