Quick question - if there is arcing between plug wires does it typically leave a white grey residue around the area of arcing ? My 97' Burb that bucks under heavy load has I believe original wires w/ 230K miles. I haven't been able to see any arcing at night while idling or reving the engine but this may be happening at speed under load. Thoughts..

You can try spraying the wires with a windex bottle filled with water. With that many miles I would just change the wires. And yes arcing will leave a white trace.
