Hi there I am new to this and just bought a 2008 Chevy Silverado LT Extended Cab with the 5.3 liter motor. I am looking to buy a programmer for it but am unsure which one to buy ofr it. Can any one give me advice on the difference and which is better for my truck.
    thanks in advance.

No current programmers can tune the TCMs in the 07+ vehicles.

The only two programs that I know of that can work on the 07+ TCMs are true tuners software (EFILive and HPTuners). I think most handhelds have been trying to crack the code to allow for TCM support since 07.

there ARE programmers for 2007+ vehicles, like the diablosport predator and trinity... they can tune/modify the ECM/engine tune... but they can not access the TCM/tranny programming... yet!

diablo's done read/write/flash tests on the tcm modules, successfully... and is building out the tune/parameter mappings, then has to do the tranny tunes themselves, and then a free update will be available for the Trinity to add the tranny tuning support once it is done, complete, testing is done, etc etc.

So there will be no TCM support for the Predator?

Will Predator owners be able to purchase an update to allow for TCM support?

they will be able to update/upgrade to the new tool that will be replacing the predators...

or, just buy the Trinity to begin with, and then can download the free update when it becomes available...
