Have been wondering about how to protect against Electro Magnetic Pulse from a solar flare or a nuclear blast. So far I think an older vehicle manufactured prior to the electronics revolution in the auto mfg would be the simplest way. Finding a rust free and accident free older vehicle is proving to be a challenge. You guys are pretty sharp, so any ideas on the solutions. Thanks.

I really think if we had an EMP strike that was strong enough to knock out your vehicle, it would be the least of your worries.
Older vehicles do have electronics that would be affected, generators and items of that nature would be affected.
The expense to shield a vehicle from EMP would be a lot, not just electrical components but also the wiring would be succeptable.

x2. Just shielding connectors on aircraft from electromagnetic interferencr is a PITA. And costs an arm and a leg. Much less a whole vehicle.
