Put window switch on '03 Suburban back together?

I own a 2003 Chevy Suburban and my 2 year old likes to kick the window switch on the door handle while sitting in his car seat. Yesterday the cover plate of the window switch flew off and the switch itself just dangles in the hole. I tried messing with it in hopes of putting it all back together but can't seem to figure it out. I'm not sure if I need to take the door handle or side panneling off? Anybody out there have any idea how to put the back seat window switch back together? I'd really appreciate it.

The switch itself should just snap back into the plate. Look for little tabs that may have broken when it got kicked loose.

You may have to get a new plate or switch or both. Depending on just what kind of damage he did to the switch.

Sorry I can’t be of more help.

Actually, that did help. I thought you had to secure the switch assembly to the handle from the inside and then snap on the cover plate. Turns out, I just had to pry the switch assembly out of the hole and then attach the cover plate to it and snap the entire thing back. Bang! It worked. Thanks again for responding.
