nnbs stands for new new body style, as opposed to new body style, new old body style, old body style, & old old body style. There's a thread on GMTC somewhere that actually denotes all the nnbs', nobs & oobs' as far as what years they cover.

new new body style is 2007-2011 trucks, new body style is 2003-2007 1/2 trucks, new old body style is 1999-2002 trucks, old body style is 1989-1998 ( I think) and old old body style is everything before that up until the C-series trucks.

I've never heard the NOBS before, I've always heard the '99-'07 classic referred to as NBS. I've always known the pre '88 trucks referred to as "Classic", the GMT400 ('88-'98) as 0BS, The GMT 800 ('99-'07 classic) as NBS and the GMT900 ('07 - present) as NNBS. I may be wrong but I thought these designations were "created" by the internet forum communities to easily designate the type of truck you have. The "New New Body Style" is a product of "New Body Style" being already taken. I guess when G.M. comes out with the next generation truck we'll have to re-think it, NNNBS sounds a bit dumb.

I must be OOOLD MAN. LOL And I use to think the Harley lettering designations were confusing.

NNBS (New New Body Style) 2007-Current Trucks and SUV's. (GMT900)
NBS (New Body Style) 1999-2007 "Classic" Trucks, and 2000-2006 SUV's (GMT800)
OBS (Old Body Style) 1988-1999 "Classic" Trucks, and 1992-2000 SUV's (GMT400)
OOBS (Old Old Body Style) 1973-1987 Trucks, 1973-1992 SUV's.

Also, there are a few OBS 2500/3500 trucks that are 2000's.
