I have been thinking about hard wiring my radar detector in my 04' Silverado. I would like to mount it up behind the mirror. I have the mirror with the compass / temperature display.
My question is does anybody know if there is a 12V switched power source in the mirror or if not, in the dome light console in the headliner?
I did this modification on my old Tacoma and it works out nice and eliminates the cord to the cigarette lighter and makes a nice clean install.

Check out invisicord. They have some pictures/diagrams of where to tap into the power behind the mirror. I know I could make it myself, but buying them is the lazy way to go. :)
