rear disc brakes? 2006 Silverado

    I have an 06 silverado 2wd and want to get rid of the rear drums.....how'd I do this and what kind of work am I looking at....

    Scotty, It's an easy swap. The hard part is getting the parts together. There is a guy on craigslist San Diego that is advertising diferentials no. is 619-661-9211. Maby he has a unit with disk brakes. Also I think the Tahoes will interchange.
    Just remove the rear cover, remove pin bolt that holds the cross pin, then remove the cross pin, push both axels in then remove the C clips, then pull the axels out. They you can remove the drum backing plates,
    install the dust shield and the ancor (holds calliper) then reinstall axels. I am in the process of doing the same thing on my 07 New body style 1500. Good Luck Jerry
