Rear passenger door lock problem

On the rear passenger door, behind the driver's seat, the power lock control from the driver seat and from my remote fob activates the lock just fine.

However, a passenger sitting in that seat, you can't unlock the lock. I suspect it is some child lock mechanism. For the life of me I don't see a lever anywhere though. The manual describes a child safety lock and that some Burbs have it.

Where is the darn switch if it isn't on the door itself? Usually I expect it on the door edge. Or is there something internally wrong with the lock?

Any safety switch would be in the door jamb. More likely one of the rods have pulled loose. Pull the door panel and inspect the mechanism.
