2006 silverado 4.8 getting reduced engine power message and I have to start approx 3-4 times to make message go away to drive and check engine light comes on and goes out after a short period and I can never get the code. Could this be the tps and is there a way to rectify this problem? Thank you for any help I have 171,000 miles and treat her like a baby!!

Check the wires at the throttle body. pull each wire individually and see if there is a bad connection.
