I replaced the alternator in my 04 z71 tahoe, it was a smooth install and it fired right up. After about 10 seconds the dic says Battery not charging and it tries to die. I installed the 145 amp alt since that's what came out of it...any ideas?

Did you ever do a load test on your battery? Usually you would replace the battery at the same time as the alternator.

I tested the battery a couple weeks ago, I got a bad alternator from a family parts store. I went to Auto zone got a great discount and the tahoe is purring.
