Buying and old 1990 Suburban. Any "easy" way to replace the standard automatic transmission with a manual transmission?? Too much work and money (I am NOT a techie and WOULD NOT be doing it myself). Thanks for any help.

The best way would be to buy a parts donor with all the parts you need then start swapping them over.
Wouldnt be an easy job and you'll probably have to use a truck as manual optioned Suburbans of most years were rare.
If I remember corectly your truck frame was originally a 1t truck, I dont know how or if that'll play into the swap.

Buy a donor chevy from 1980-1987 with a manual tranny since that will bolt right in and be easiest to change over the pedals. etc... And if you want a 5spd, you can buy that and still use everything out of the donor truck to make it easiest. That way you already have the crossmember, and the template for the hole in the floor, and really you will want an ECU from a truck with a manual for your truck so you dont have a CEL!!!
