I have a 96 z71 4wd, when I put it in reverse, SOMETIMES(usually only when someone else is in the truck so I get embarrassed!)... It pops out of gear and makes a weeeeeEEEEEEeeeeee sound(like gears grinding). If you make that sound out loud and try to sound like Erkel you will have it down. I put it in neutral as fast as possible and put it back in reverse and it works fine. Not sure if this is a transmission problem or something in the rear end(not exactly a truck expert). If someone has had this problem or knows what I am talking about could you please help so I know where to start dismembering, I mean uhhh dismantling my vehicle??? NOTE: it sounds like it is coming from the back of the truck and not underneath. Thanks for the help!!!

Oh yeah, it doesn't have a lift, all stock. And it only does it in reverse, I don't have any problems with any of the other gears...
