What the hell is wrong with people? A 24 year old guy runs into a school and kills a bunch of children! They said there were 2 shooters, They said that one killed himself. I would love to have 30 seconds with either or both of them at the same time, no weapons needed, just 30 seconds. No matter what is going on in your life what kind of reasoning says "Let's go shoot a bunch of innocent kids"? I really had to control myself in this post, had a hard time getting my point across without vulgarity. I don't push religion but, I pray for the families and kids impacted by these two sorry excuses for human beings

WOW! ARGH i'm so pissed off at this that I'm beside myself.

What's wrong with people? We're living in a twisted society where we're taught that anything is permissible, there is no meaning in life and (chuckle-chuckle) there certainly is no divine creator. So you can do whatever you want in life ... (smirk) ... "as long as you don't hurt anyone!".

Well, that's fine for a generation or two ... but then you get into that third or fourth generation where kids are taught that life has no true meaning, they can do whatever they want, they're not caught citizenship, etc ... so you get kids who say, "Wait, according to the new worldview that I've been taught in the American school system. That whole "as long as I don't hurt anyone" thing doesn't make any sense at all."

So, because of where we are at right now, I'd say that we should expect this sort of thing to happen more and more every year, every generation. It's sad, but that's how I see the culture and the world going, we've just been blessed for so long with a Judeo-Christian framework (which is just about all gone now) that taught people not to go out murdering little children in a school (among other things) that we've been sheltered from the rest of the world on things like this.

Just makes me sick. Just sick.

DEVELOPING: Authorities say at least 26 people, including 18 children, were killed Friday when a gunman clad in black military gear opened fire inside a Connecticut elementary school.
A law enforcement official said the shooter, who is dead, is believed to be a father of one of the students at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown. Authorities recovered a Glock and Sig Sauer 9mm handgun, but it was unclear who killed the shooter, who wore black combat garb and a military vest.

Local news outlets report that the shooting occurred inside a kindergarten classroom, and that all the pupils in that classroom are unaccounted for.
An official with knowledge of the situation said the man, described as in his 20's, had two guns. The motive is not yet known.

Police are also questioning another man in connection with the shooting. Witnesses told the Connecticut Post that the handcuffed man was led out of the woods by officers.

So this week there were Mall shootings, 22 kids stabbed or cut in a school in China and now this. Please help me understand why elementary school children needed to die. Did this piece of human garbage decide "i want to be remembered so I'll kill more kids than anyone else?" It is so sad to see where we are headed as a society. And unfortunetly all that will become of this are new gun laws to take away weapons from all but the criminals... my thoughts and prayers to everyone involved.

Newtown is not far from Milford where I live, the whole state is shell shocked. My grandmother is the superintendent for Newtown public schools.... I can't imagine how she feels right now. We have been unable to call her because she is so busy working to comfort families, handle paperwork and talking with media and such.

Its hard to imagine going through life hearing about these kinds of things and thinking: yah that will never effect me or never happen to me or in my area... Well now it did..... Many are asking that every one wear pink or red in respect to the death of so many.

Also an update, there was one shooter who was a son of one of the teachers. He visited the school often so most payed no attention to him. The principal was hand picked for the job there by my grandmother and a dear friend of hers. The original name of the shooter was wrong that was the shooters older brother who lives in NY and was at work during the shooting.

I have sent a message to Chevrolet asking them to both post in respect of the families and to get the word out to their millions of fans to pray for Newtown.

This is just sick and very disturbing, becuase this guy supposedly showed no warning signs before he flew off the handle. I just wish that these people that decide to go and kill a bunch of innocent and then kill themselves would just spare everyone the pain and kill themself first. And what kind of coward shoots up an elementary school.

The shooter killed him self... Also Milford has a very strict policy on people entering the school.

Today was a day of tragedy for Newtown, and for all parents who send their precious little ones to school. Sandy Hook School has this wonderful culture of caring for kids. You can feel it when you walk in the school. It is nurturing, positive, and just a "kid" place. They continually excel as a high performing school but accomplish that in a loving and energizing way. The teachers and administrators are exceptional. Today, we lost all that innocence. We lost 20 of our beautiful little first graders. We lost a phenomenal principal. We lost some dedicated and talented teachers, educational assistant and school psychologist. My heart was breaking today for those parents, those husbands and children waiting for word on their special people. I can not understand how someone can be so twisted to hurt children and those who teach those children.

This was just posted on Facebook by my grandmother. She still is at the fire house talking to parents and trying to find out how she will help the police identify the victims. My grandmother is an amazing educator who cares very deeply for her students. I can't imagine the stress she is going through right now.

There was one shooter. He was the son of one of the teachers. He killed his mother in their house then went to the school and committed the shooting after he killed him self. His older brother said he was a deeply troubled kid, but never showed any sign this would happen. At first the older brother was accidently identified as the killer until he called police and said he was at work in NY so it was not him and was his younger brother.

The police are still processing the scene. No bodies have been removed from the school because they haven't been identified.

There are reports that the kid had deep psychological and neurological issues. Plus it was reported that he was a heavy gamer. probably played first person shooter games all the time, that's a hunch but its probably true.

There's no accounting for crazy. What pains me is that left-leaning morons always call for gun control that impacts the non-crazy ... when crazy people do crazy crap like this. As if punishing the sane will somehow stop crazies from doing crazy things...

I agree and crazy people will still find a way to get their hands on guns.
18. This is really sad, what a low life coward to go to a defenseless elementary school. There are too many sick/crazy people in our society.

SurrealOne I could not have said it better. The CFO and I have had many debates about that same subject since yesterday afternoon. It is a sad day when a coward picks little children as victims. Conlan Rose your grandmother is in my thoughts. I can't imagine the things that she is feeling because of the closeness to the situation. I also keep the children in my thoughts that they will be able to go on as children after such an event.

as this goes on the media is going to make a spin on this about gun control. even though as being 20 he couldnt buy hand guns anyways so gun control has no part in this. please please remember this is the ability of the human mind finding ways to kill during a sick time in human history. guns, knives, pitch forks, fertilizer, it doesnt matter what kind of controls that you put on anything, people will still kill people. this happens by morals and values being corrupted and personal beliefes being condemned.
you want to be part of fixing this problem? turn off the media, put the ps3 or xbox controller down and talk with your families. enforce an environment of good values, self respect, respect for others, right and wrong, honor and loyalty to your children. thats the only way that this can be fixed.
