Got a bad bench seat, torn to heck and basically a previous mouse or two's home. 83 Chevy, reg cab. What kind of swaps can be done? Can you put in buckets with a console instead? I have NO mechanical or fabrication ability, looking to pretty much do an easy swap. Are all 73-87 c/k truck bench seats interchangeable? Anybody with cool upgrade or swapped seat pics?

Here's what I am doing for my 1952 replacement. Basically if you measure the width of the bench you can find a seat to fit it at a local junk yard. I'm actually looking at a back seat from a safari van since it has the center seat that folds down as a console and also has built in seat belts. The most you should have to do is drill to bolt the thing down. Bucket seats and console would require fabricating mounts to get them high enough for your truck so you can see over the steering wheel lol. I would suggest finding bench seat that is the same width as yours, with a center console. That would be the easiest way to go about it. Hope this helps.

That's the kind of stuff I was lookin for. I got a couple nice salvage yards around with some decent stuff. I'll giver a measure and see what I got going on. Thanks Greg.
