Service Battery Charging System

    I've got a 2007 Yukon Denali and recently got this message,Service Battery Charging System.My battery is brand new,replaced by the dealer 3 months ago.It is only reading 10 volts when it normally reads 14.Any suggestions.

    I would have the alternator tested. On the newer trucks the alternator regulation is controlled by the computer, so it can be damaged if removed and "bench tested". They have to be tested on the truck.
